Transportation
Metra trains offer convenient commuter service to the city. Expressways are accessible and offer a 35-minute drive to the city. Nortran provides local bus service throughout the city.
Schools
The majority of elementary students attend District 57 schools. Both special and gifted education programs are available. High school students attend one of two high schools in District 214. Two Catholic and one Lutheran school provide alternatives to public education.
Recreation
The Park District, with 480 acres of parks and land featuring an 18-hole golf course, offers year-round scheduled activities for all ages. The Mount Prospect Park District offers more than 250 activities ranging from art classes to sporting events, and sponsors a preschool and before- and after-school activities. In addition to an outdoor wave pool and an 18-hole golf course, the district offers tennis, racquetball, basketball and volleyball facilities.
